EAL Coordinator – Summer Program

The EAL Coordinator oversees the day to day running of the EAL Program in conjunction with the Head of Academics. This includes:

  • Regular department meetings with the EAL team.
  • The dissemination and collection of grade reports.
  • Monitoring the quality and appropriateness of written comments.
  • Assisting with the choice of EAL resources/text books and allocating accordingly, and setting up and maintaining the EAL classrooms.
  • Organising the observation and evaluation of EAL teachers, and providing feedback.
  • Meeting regularly with the teachers of the EAL program and dealing with any professional development concerns.
  • Organising the EAL placement testing for all EAL students.

This is a residential position and the EAL Coordinator serves as a Duty Team Leader, as a member of the Administrative Team, and meets regularly with the Director of the Summer Program.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Knows the identity of the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy.
  • Alert to indicators of potential safeguarding issues and reports these immediately in accordance with the School’s procedure.
  • Is aware of the School’s Safeguarding Policy and follows its requirements.
  • Attends training relating to Safeguarding of Children.
  • Engages in safe practice and professional conduct to safeguard children to mitigate against the potential for misunderstandings or situations being misconstrued.
  • Creates safe and secure learning environments

Fixed term contract dates: 17th June 2024 to 4th August 2024

  • Bachelor’s (required)

Experience:

  • delivering international education program: 3 years (required)
  • working with the American curriculum: 3 years (required)
  • evaluating teachers: 2 years (required)
  • working at senior management level within a Summer Program: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CELTA, DELTA or IELTS certification (required)
