Job overview
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and skilled person to provide English Language development and access to the curriculum for our EAL students. The role would suit someone with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of EAL learners who is eager to work with children and young people to raise their engagement and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.
EAL / ESOL Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
- To work closely with class teachers to support EAL learners in their lessons
- To support teachers to effectively implement appropriate strategies to facilitate access to the curriculum
- To provide resources support to teachers to support EAL learners in their lessons
- To work within a scheme of work in small intervention groups with students to develop their English
- To conduct assessments and monitor the English proficiency levels of EAL learners
- To provide feedback on the young person’s progress
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Professional EAL Teaching Qualifications (for e.g. CELTA, TEFL, TESOL) or Experience teaching English to EAL students
- The ability to teach with enthusiasm and ambition to inspire a love of learning
- Evidence of being a self-motivated, confident and reflective teacher of English
- Experience working with young people
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
