Hours:

  • Minimum 5 hours a week up to about 15 hours per week (to suit business needs)
  • Hybrid working possible
  • £18 – £22 per hour (more permanent options available for the right candidate)

Across Cultures is a small, multi-award winning organisation. It provides training and blended learning resources to schools supporting children and families who are new-to-English in the school context (both in the UK and internationally).

Across Cultures runs an English as an Additional Language (EAL) blended learning platform, which includes training for schools on how to support learners in this area. Across Cultures also provides courses and consultancy. The company is growing rapidly, largely due to the success of its edtech blended learning platform, the Learning Village (www.learningvillage.net).

The Director of the company is an author in the field of language learning across the curriculum, and the company’s education resources are built on good practice in schools and embedded in research. Responsibilities:

  • Train schools (school leaders, teachers and teaching assistants) in using a blended learning platform remotely and sometimes face-to-face. Full training will be provided.
  • Support and sometimes lead the remote delivery of EAL courses, such as webinars and full-day virtual courses on good practice in EAL teaching.
  • Support member acquisition and retention efforts.
  • Provide outstanding support for members in using the EAL resources platform effectively.
  • Engage in opportunities to promote the product by assisting with general sales, where appropriate, and, occasionally, by attending exhibitions.
  • Support digital communications, e.g. social media and emails.
  • Keep accurate records of all liaisons with schools.
  • Support some development of content.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the day-to-day operation of the organisation.

Experience required:

  • Teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) in a primary or secondary school setting
  • Class/subject teaching (primary or secondary)
  • Training experience
  • Sales experience would be an advantage

  • PGCE and specialisation in language (linguistics) or similar
