Felsted School is running an art competition under the theme of nature, in conjunction with the release of a range of free art masterclasses online, accessible to all ages.

The masterclasses highlight four different techniques with accompanying video and written resources, including Land Art, How to illustrate like Quentin Blake, Tonal Studies and Nature Printing. They are delivered by Head of Felsted Prep Art, Sarah Mitchell and Head of Art at Felsted Senior School, Elizabeth Jackson, and can be accessed by all ages, depending on ability.

The Felsted Art Competition is free to enter, open to children of all ages, with a chance to win a £50 voucher to buy art materials from CASS Art Supplies (www.cassart.co.uk).

All masterclasses and resources can be found at www.felsted.org/art and entries should be submitted by Monday 7 June. The winning entries will be announced on 18 June. All entrants will receive a Competition Certificate of Entry, sent to their current school and the news will be celebrated on the Felsted School website.

Felsted pupils are fortunate to have wonderful facilities and specialist teachers to study art as part of the curriculum, a co-curricular activity or as a hobby. We wish to share our resources with the community through this initiative. At Felsted, Art can be studied at GCSE, A level and as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma and students regularly use their Felsted art pathway to obtain great offers from Universities in a range of subjects. Former students have also succeeded in national competitions and had their work displayed at the Saatchi Gallery. Scholarships are available from Year 9.
