It was lovely to see so many BAISIS member school representatives at Password’s recent 10th Anniversary Celebration held at the Society of Antiquaries, Burlington House. A powerful key note speech by Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, President of UKCISA and Co-Chair of the APPG on International Students, was followed by an insightful presentation by Robin Fletcher, CEO of the Boarding Schools Association.
We were honoured that Caroline Nixon, General Secretary of BAISIS, joined our distinguished panel of experts for a lively discussion on the future of international education post Brexit which was chaired by Amy Baker of the PIE and served to sum up the afternoon’s content.
Other panellists contributing to the robust debate included Nick Hillman, Director of the Higher Education Policy Unit, Stuart Bannermann, Director International at London South Bank University, Celia Partridge, Assistant Director UUK International, and Robin Fletcher of the BSA.
The event was topped off a drinks reception and jazz in the stunning historic surroundings of the Antiquaries hall and library.
A great summary of the discussion in which Caroline participated by PIE journalist Viggo Stacey can be found here: https://thepienews.com/news/uk-stakeholders-fear-classrooms-will-be-less-diverse-post-brexit/
From everyone at Password, our thanks go to the members of BAISIS and to Caroline for joining us at this special celebration of international education.
