UK Education Guide webinar:

What does Beijing’s “common prosperity” policy mean for overseas education providers?

Date: 08 October 2021    Time: 15.00 (BST)

Platform: Zoom
Cost: BAISIS members FREE
Audience: Schools’ recruitment and admissions teams

Outline: In July 2021, Beijing ordered all private tutoring services to be run as not-for-profits, banned all foreign ownership and decreed they cannot operate anymore at weekends or during holidays. With Chinese students contributing approximately £2 billion to the UK economy every year, many believe that Beijing may in the future take control of this sector, beginning with overseas education recruitment agencies operating within China. In this webinar, we will explore the practical steps UK schools can take now to make sure that they are ready for when the changes come.

15:00 – 15:10: Introduction by Pat Moores, UK Education Guide

15:10 – 15:30: Overview of Changes & Practical Solutions – Alain de Maurier, Westwin

15:30 – 15:40: The Chinese Parents’ Perspective – Jie Zhang, Westwin

15:40 – 15:45: Q&A

BAISIS members are invited to this event organised by supporting member UK Education Guide.  The event is free of charge but pre-registration via the link is necessary.
