Course Outline:

This webinar will consider how repurposing and extending learning and knowledge gained across existing curricula, for tasks that foster presentational and discursive skills, can develop oracy and support integrated language acquisition – by enabling learners to:

  • create and deliver presentations and discussions that further their ability to convey information systematically and coherently
  • explore and develop their vocabulary in relation to subject areas they have pre-existing interests and knowledge in
  • extend and build-upon the breadth and depth of knowledge gained in other parts of the curriculum.

Joanna Harte, Trinity College London 

Jo has been an examiner with Trinity College London for 15 years and in the last 2 years been in role of Lead Senior Examiner, Drama.

As a trained dancer, actor and director, along with 15 years of running a theatre school, her experiences embrace Trinity’s portfolio and most recently she was part of the team that has developed the new Acting for Screen Syllabus.

Jo has just returned from Singapore where Communication Skills were the dominant syllabus, and she understands the importance of this offer and the vast opportunities it provides candidates and teachers.
