The British Association of Independent Schools with International Students’ mission is to champion support for international students.
BAISIS defines and shares best practice in academic and pastoral provision for international students in British independent schools and English medium schools globally.
In addition to the benefits of membership, we offer a number of services as listed below.
The BAISIS International Student Care Standard (ISCS) is an independent accreditation designed to recognise and celebrate schools that go above and beyond in their care for international students. Developed by BAISIS, part of the BSA Group, the standard assesses schools against key benchmarks spanning safety, pastoral support, academic provision, and cultural inclusion – giving families the confidence that their child will be truly looked after. Schools that achieve the ISCS receive a certificate and logo to proudly display, signalling to prospective parents and educational agents worldwide that their commitment to international student wellbeing has been independently verified.
Responding to member feedback, we have launched a one to one mentoring service. Our team of professional mentors has a wealth of knowledge and experience of working in boarding as well as experience in particular areas. The BSA COVID-19 supplier list aims to connect members and organisations navigating the pandemic. The COVID-19 Resource Hub contains information about the BSA Covid-Safe Charter and other resources to support schools.
