Multilingualism is the use of more than one language by an individual or group of speakers. Yoshito Darmon-Shimamori is a parent raising two trilingual children, an author writing books for multilingual children, and the international links co-ordinator at his school.
He believes strongly in the power of intrinsic motivation is an expert in designing environments that empowers multilingual and multicultural children who are proud of their languages and cultures.

Yoshito Darmon-Shimamori, Founder, Library 4 Multilinguals Ltd, International Links Coordinator, Central Foundation Girls’ School
Yoshito Darmon-Shimamori is the founder of Library 4 Multilinguals Ltd, an author, foreign languages teacher, and International Links Coordinator at Central Foundation Girls’ School.
Drawing on his own experience growing up bilingual and bicultural, he is passionate about supporting his trilingual sons to grow up proud of—and empowered by—their languages and cultural heritage.
Yoshito trained as a teacher through the PGCE program at the University of Cumbria and has over 13 years of classroom experience. This has equipped him with the skills to create meaningful and inclusive learning environments that help multilingual children and teenagers develop a confident sense of identity.
In his current role as International Links Coordinator, he works to foster pride in students’ cultural backgrounds while encouraging curiosity and respect for others’. This mission also drives his writing, as he continues to write and publish books that help young people embrace and celebrate their heritage.
