Course Outline:

In schools with a diverse student body, promoting vocabulary acquisition is essential for academic success and social integration, especially for students with varying levels of English language ability and experience. This webinar is designed to offer strategies to encourage vocabulary growth in every lesson, interaction and setting. Our speaker will explore practical approaches to embedding vocabulary learning throughout the school day – whether in academic lessons, boarding life or extracurricular activities. Participants will gain ideas for creating an inclusive learning environment where domestic and international students can develop their language skills, regardless of their starting point.

  • The importance of vocabulary for academic and social success
  • Integrating vocabulary learning in every lesson
  • Creating a vocabulary-rich environment in non-academic settings
  • Supporting EAL learners: differentiation and scaffolding.
