Source: Increase in visa and ETA fees for the UK – StudyTravel Network
The UK Home Office has announced an increase in various visa fees starting April 9, 2025. Key changes include:
- Student Visa: The main applicant and dependents’ fees will rise from £490 to £524, a 7% increase. The Child Student visa will also go up to £524.
- Short-term Study Visa: Fees for English language programmes (6-11 months) will rise from £200 to £214, a 7% increase.
- Visitor Visa: The fee will increase by 10%, from £115 to £127.
- Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA): The fee will increase by 60%, from £10 to £16. The ETA is mandatory for non-EU nationals entering the UK and will also apply to EU nationals from April 2, 2025.
The rise in fees, especially the ETA increase, has been criticized for impacting the youth, student, and educational travel sectors, adding barriers to international travel and connections.
