Source: UK, Canada, Australia see a decline as top choices for international students
A recent IDP Education survey reveals that Indian students are increasingly looking beyond traditional study destinations like the UK, Australia, and Canada due to stricter visa policies and shifting preferences, with emerging destinations like Germany, Japan, and France gaining appeal. Conducted with over 6,000 students worldwide, the survey shows that only the US and New Zealand, which have not tightened visa regulations, saw a rise in popularity. Key factors influencing student choices include post-study work visa options, permanent residency pathways, and visa costs. Additionally, more students are now considering multiple study destinations, reflecting greater flexibility in their plans.
