Students from DLD College London, a trailblazing independent school, have taken part in an enriching day of culinary training crafted by the college’s in-house Chef, Antonio.

The budding young chefs were immersed in various culinary techniques and skills during the hands-on masterclass, which took place in DLD’s purpose-built Global Kitchen. Students started their day with an essential lesson on food hygiene, before advancing to learn basic knife skills. They then learnt how to make pasta from scratch accompanied by tasty sauces, how to cook the perfect steak, and mastered the art of making sushi. To finish, the students baked a delectable traditional sponge cake.

The anticipated event came as part of the multi-award-winning college’s Qualifications Day, during which students had the opportunity to develop new skills. The day formed part of the final week of the academic year at DLD, which culminated in the end-of-year awards ceremony, where students’ achievements were celebrated, farewells shared and the much-coveted DLD House Cup was awarded to Jubilee House.

Gareth Evans, Assistant Principal at DLD College London commented: “The day was a resounding success, showcasing our commitment as a leading school to providing unique and practical learning opportunities. I would like to express my gratitude to Chef Antonio and his team for creating this unique learning opportunity and inspiring the next generation of culinary wizards.”
